The Polmar Gemini is a set of two licence-free PMR446 transceivers offering 8+8 channels with CTCSS tones for private communication. In open terrain free of obstructions, the range reaches up to 4 km; in obstacle-rich environments it covers 200 m. Because PMR446 operates on a licence-exempt frequency band, no authorisation is required to use them.

Each transceiver has a cast aluminium body for durability and better heat dissipation during transmission, and is rated IP54 against water and moisture. A 3.7 V / 1200 mAh Li-Ion rechargeable battery and 500 mW audio output speaker are built in. VOX hands-free function, on-screen display, and Time Out Timer are all included.
