Collection: Replacement TV Remotes

Look for the model number on your original remote or on the label on the back of your TV, then match it to a remote built for that brand and model. If you can't find an exact match, a universal remote is a flexible alternative.

Direct replacement remotes are usually plug-and-play: add batteries and they work immediately, because they use the same infrared codes as the original. Pairing is mainly needed for Bluetooth or voice remotes.

A brand- and model-matched remote mirrors the original layout, including streaming shortcut keys where the original had them. Always check the product photo against your old remote to confirm the buttons you rely on are present.

Most TV remotes use two AAA or AA batteries, which are usually not included. You can pick them up alongside your remote in Power & Cables.

First try fresh batteries. You can test the infrared signal with a phone camera: point the remote at the lens and press a button — most cameras show a faint light if the remote is transmitting. If there's no light after a battery change, the remote likely needs replacing.

A direct replacement controls only the TV it's designed for. If you want to control your TV and audio with one device, a universal remote is the better fit. Many soundbars also respond to your TV's HDMI-CEC control.
