It operates as a true Triplex device, meaning recording, playback, and remote network viewing can all run at the same time without interrupting each other. The unit accepts up to 4 BNC cameras and can be controlled by front-panel buttons, USB mouse, or infrared remote control.

Video is compressed using dual MJPEG and H.264 formats, and the recorder supports a single internal 3.5-inch SATA hard drive of up to 2 TB (not included).
