If the appliance uses a detachable IEC lead, you can simply swap the whole cord for a like-for-like rated replacement. For hard-wired cords or any repair to fixed wiring, the work should be done or checked by a qualified electrician for safety.

For powering several devices in one spot, a power strip is usually safer and tidier than chaining mains leads. Avoid daisy-chaining multiple extensions, and don't exceed the strip's rated load.
