A conduit angle (or elbow) is a pre-moulded fitting with a sharp 90° or 45° turn, used primarily for surface-mounted conduit at wall corners. A conduit bend is a section with a longer, sweeping radius that changes direction more gradually — easier to pull cables through and better suited for in-wall or underground installations. T-joints are sized to match the conduit's outer diameter — the most common sizes for surface-mounted domestic installations are 16 mm, 20 mm and 25 mm. All three openings of the tee must match the conduit diameter you are using. If you are branching from a larger to a smaller conduit, a reducing tee is available for that purpose.

Standard white PVC fittings are designed for indoor use and should not be used in permanently outdoor or wet locations. For outdoor applications, use fittings with an IP rating appropriate for your environment (IP54 or higher for exposed outdoor areas) and UV-stabilised PVC or grey conduit systems rated for external use.

Most surface-mounted PVC conduit fittings are click-fit — they push and lock onto the conduit without tools. For a solvent-weld installation (common in rigid conduit systems), you need PVC conduit adhesive applied to the joint before pushing it together. T-joints are typically used to feed conduit into a junction box from multiple directions. The tee allows three conduit runs to meet at a single point, which is then connected to a junction box via conduit boxes & couplers. This creates a neat, sealed enclosure for wire connections without exposed joins.

PVC conduit fittings in standard sizes (16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm) generally follow European standards (EN 61386) and are cross-compatible between brands that adhere to the same standard. However, some manufacturers use slightly different clip or locking mechanisms in their surface-trunking ranges, so it is advisable to use fittings from the same range where possible.
