Description
The Marmitek MegaView 90 is an HDMI extender set that transmits Full HD video and PCM stereo audio from a source device — such as a Blu-ray player, digital TV decoder, Media Centre PC, or HDD recorder — to a display up to 100 m away over a single CAT5e cable, or up to 120 m over CAT6. It operates over a home LAN including existing routers and switches, and multiple receivers can be connected to the same network simultaneously for multi-room distribution.
The transmitter includes a built-in HDMI splitter output, so a locally connected HDTV can continue to show the source while the signal is also sent to the remote receiver. Data transmission uses TCP/IP with H.264 compression at up to 2.25 Gbps (6.75 Gbps per channel), with a maximum pixel frequency of 225 MHz.
Key Features
- HDMI extension up to 100 m over CAT5e or 120 m over CAT6 at 1080p
- Operates over existing home LAN including routers and switches
- Multiple receivers connectable to the same network simultaneously
- Built-in HDMI splitter on transmitter for simultaneous local viewing
- H.264 compression with TCP/IP data transmission
- Supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p resolutions
- PCM stereo audio pass-through
- Includes infrared receiver and blaster for remote control pass-back
Product Benefits
- Single CAT5e/6 cable replaces a long HDMI run, which is impractical beyond 10–15 m; existing structured cabling in a home can serve as the transmission medium
- LAN compatibility means the MegaView 90 can share an existing network switch rather than requiring a dedicated point-to-point cable between rooms
- Multiple receivers on the same network allow one source device to feed displays in several rooms without additional splitters or transmitters
- The local HDMI output on the transmitter keeps the source room display active, so the content is visible in both locations at the same time
- The included infrared blaster and receiver allow the remote display location to control the source device, avoiding the need to walk back to the source room to change inputs or pause playback

Why You'll Love It
- Using a single CAT5e/6 cable instead of a long HDMI cable avoids the signal degradation and high cost associated with long passive HDMI cables
- LAN operation means no dedicated cabling run is needed if the target room already has a network port
- The infrared pass-back system means the viewing location has full control over the source device — no separate control system is required
- Multiple receivers on one transmitter eliminate the need to duplicate source equipment in each room
