Johansson 9646 Wideband-to-Quattro LNB Converter – 290-2340 MHz & DC Pass-Through

The Johansson 9646 is a wideband-to-quattro LNB signal converter designed for satellite distribution systems that need to serve both new wideband Set-Top-Boxes and traditional Set-Top-Boxes simultaneously. It takes two inputs from a wideband LNB and delivers four standard quattro outputs (VL, HL, VH, HH), making it compatible with conventional multiswitches and distribution equipment.

The VL output carries DC pass-through to power the wideband LNB, eliminating the need for a separate power injector. With an input frequency range of 290–2340 MHz, output range of 950–2150 MHz, and a compact 90 × 80 × 40 mm housing, the 9646 is suited for installation in headend enclosures alongside multiswitches and amplifiers.

Key Features

• Converts wideband LNB output (V, H) to quattro LNB format (VL, HL, VH, HH)
• 2 inputs; input frequency range 290–2340 MHz
• 4 outputs; output frequency range 950–2150 MHz
• Typical conversion gain: 0 dB
• DC pass-through on VL output to power the wideband LNB
• Input power range: 54–84 dBµV
• Output isolation: 26 dB
• DC consumption: 150 mA at 20 VDC
• DC input voltage: 10–20 VDC
• Return loss: ≥ 8 dB
• All connectors: 75 Ohm F-type female
• Compact housing: 90 × 80 × 40 mm

Product Benefits

• Enables a single wideband LNB installation to serve both new wideband STBs and legacy quattro-compatible receivers and multiswitches
• DC pass-through on VL powers the wideband LNB directly through the coaxial cable, avoiding a separate power insertion point at the dish
• 0 dB typical conversion gain preserves the signal level through the conversion process without requiring additional compensation
• 26 dB output isolation prevents signal leakage between the four quattro outputs in multiswitch applications
• F-type female connectors on all ports are compatible with standard coaxial infrastructure, requiring no special connectors
