GU10 spotlights are used in ceiling downlights, track lighting and accent fittings. They twist and lock into the holder, making them a direct swap for old halogen spots without rewiring.

A narrow beam (about 36°) is best for accent or focused task lighting, while a wider beam (60°+) gives broader, more even coverage. For larger rooms, wider angles or more fittings help avoid dark spots.

Only bulbs labelled dimmable work correctly with a dimmer switch. A non-dimmable bulb on a dimmer may flicker or hum. Check the product specs before ordering if your fitting has a dimmer.

GU10 LEDs are widely used in bathrooms, but the fitting itself must carry the right IP rating for its zone. Check the fixture rating, not just the bulb, when installing near a shower or bath.

Yes. GU10 LEDs use far less power and produce much less heat than halogen spots for the same brightness, which is safer in enclosed downlights and reduces energy use over time.

Buy bulbs with the same Kelvin value (for example all 3000K) and ideally the same brand and model. Mixing colour temperatures across one ceiling makes the lighting look uneven. The same applies if you mix with E27 bulbs in the same room.
