Description
Description
The Johansson 4540 is a TAP-type coaxial distribution component with 1 input and 4 tap outputs. At 12 dB insertion loss and 18 dB port isolation, it taps four subscriber drops from the distribution trunk simultaneously while preserving adequate residual signal for further cascade stages.
DC pass functionality allows supply voltage to travel through the coaxial cable, enabling active components such as masthead amplifiers or LNBs to be powered from the same line. The 4540 is supplied in bulk packaging of 50 units, suited for multi-dwelling and CATV installation projects.
Key Features
- TAP configuration: 1 input, 4 outputs
- Frequency range: 5–2300 MHz, covering terrestrial, satellite, and DOCSIS bands
- DC pass on the input port
- Insertion loss: 12 dB
- Isolation between output ports: 18 dB
- Return loss on input and output: 10 dB
- Sold in bulk packaging of 50 units
Product Benefits
- Four simultaneous outputs serve four subscriber drops from a single tap point, significantly reducing the number of components in large distribution installations
- 12 dB insertion loss keeps the trunk signal strong for further downstream stages, even while feeding four simultaneous drops
- Wide 5–2300 MHz bandwidth covers terrestrial, satellite, and broadband signals in a single passive unit
- Bulk 50-unit packaging reduces per-unit cost for contractors and installation professionals

Why You'll Love It
- Four outputs in a single TAP component replace a separate tap-plus-splitter combination, keeping the distribution enclosure tidy and the component count low
- The 12 dB tap level is well-suited to the first or second position on a trunk where the signal budget must remain strong for additional drops further down the line
- Bulk packaging of 50 units makes the 4540 the practical choice for contractors stocking a standard tap inventory for multi-dwelling projects
- DC pass maintained at all four output positions keeps active antenna system elements powered without any extra hardware
