Constant-voltage drivers output a fixed 12V or 24V and suit LED strips and modules. Constant-current drivers hold a fixed mA and are required by many LED panels and downlights. Always match the type your fixture specifies.

No. The driver voltage must match the strip voltage exactly. A 12V driver on a 24V strip leaves it dim or off, and a 24V driver on a 12V strip can destroy it. Check the strip's rated voltage first.

Yes. Only a dimmable driver works with a dimmer. Match the dimming type (such as TRIAC or 0-10V) to your control. A standard, non-dimmable driver will flicker or fail on a dimmer circuit.

Some warmth is normal because drivers dissipate heat. It should be warm, not hot. Excessive heat usually means the driver is overloaded, so size it about 20% above the load and keep it ventilated.
