Yes, provided all heads use the same track standard (H, J or L type) and the combined wattage does not exceed the track's rated load. This flexibility is one of track lighting's biggest advantages — you can mix a narrow accent head with a wider task head on the same rail. The number of heads depends on the track's maximum wattage rating, typically printed on the product or packaging. Divide the total rated watts by the wattage of your chosen spotlight head to get the maximum head count. As a rule of thumb, space heads roughly one per metre for balanced coverage, and always leave headroom below the rated maximum. Many LED track spotlights are dimmable, but this requires a compatible LED dimmer switch — standard dimmers designed for halogen or incandescent lamps can cause flickering or buzz with LEDs. Always check that both the LED head and the dimmer are marked as compatible before installing.
