DiSEqC 1.0 supports switching between up to four satellite inputs, making it suitable for most home installations. DiSEqC 1.1 extends this to up to 16 inputs and is used in larger or more complex systems. Always check that your satellite receiver supports the version of the switch you choose.

They are built to withstand typical outdoor conditions, but it is good practice to keep them protected from direct rain and moisture where possible. Most modern satellite receivers support DiSEqC, but you should confirm this in your receiver's specifications or menu settings before purchasing a switch. Older or basic receivers may only support the simpler tone-burst or 22 kHz tone switching methods, which are not the same as DiSEqC.
