It receives radio signals from a remote control and switches an output, letting you operate gates, doors, lights or motors wirelessly. It is a core part of many Access Control setups where remotes replace keys.

The receiver and remote must share the same frequency (often 433MHz) and coding type, such as fixed or rolling code. Check both before buying. If you are starting fresh, choose a receiver and remotes designed to work together.

Fixed code sends the same signal each time and is simpler but easier to copy. Rolling code changes the signal on every press, which is more secure against interception. For access control, rolling code is the safer choice.

This varies by model; some store a handful of remotes, others many more. Check the product details for the memory capacity. If you need to manage many users, plan for a receiver with a higher remote limit.
