Infrared Heating Lamps — Replacement Bulbs & Elements

Infrared heating lamps convert electrical energy directly into radiant heat, warming people and surfaces rather than the surrounding air. They are the heat source inside patio heaters, bathroom warmers, and industrial radiant panels — and when the element burns out, a direct replacement gets your heater running again without a full unit replacement. Our LED Bulbs section sits alongside a carefully selected range of infrared heating lamps to cover every common fitting.

Short-Wave vs Long-Wave Infrared

Short-wave (near-infrared) lamps glow red and deliver intense, immediate heat — ideal for outdoor patio heaters and workshop spot heating. Long-wave (medium and far-infrared) lamps often appear dark or amber and provide gentler, more diffuse warmth suited to bathrooms, saunas, and animal husbandry.

Common Fittings: R7s, E27 & Quartz Tubes

The most widely used infrared heating lamp types are R7s (linear double-ended quartz tubes, usually 118 mm or 189 mm), E27 screw-cap ceramic lamps for domestic and bathroom heaters, and compact quartz elements. Match the wattage as well as the fitting — replacing a 300 W element with a 500 W one in the same fixture is not safe.
