Roughly a 9W LED matches a 60W incandescent, and a 6W LED matches a 40W. Compare lumens rather than watts for accuracy: aim for around 800 lumens to replace a typical 60W bulb.

Pick 2700K warm white for relaxing spaces like bedrooms and living rooms, 4000K neutral white for kitchens and offices, and 6500K cool white for garages and workshops. The Kelvin (K) value is printed on the box.

No. Only bulbs marked dimmable will work with a dimmer switch, and they also need a compatible LED dimmer. Using a non-dimmable LED on a dimmer can cause flicker or buzzing.

Standard bulbs are for indoor or enclosed fittings only. For exposed outdoor positions choose a fixture with a suitable IP rating; browse our Outdoor & Garden Lighting for weather-rated options.

Flicker usually comes from an incompatible dimmer, a loose connection, or pairing a non-dimmable LED with a dimmer circuit. Try a dimmable bulb with an LED-rated dimmer, or check the fitting and wiring.
