Proskit MT-7029 LAN Cable Tester – 130 KHz Tone, PoE Scan, NCV & 8-LED Cable Map

The Proskit MT-7029 is a professional two-piece instrument — transmitter and receiver — for testing, mapping, and tracing network and telephone cables. It identifies wiring faults including open circuits, short circuits, miswiring, and shielding status across RJ45 Cat 5/5e/6 (UTP/STP) and RJ11/12 Cat 3 telephone cables, while the tone generator enables cable tracing through walls or conduit up to 3 km.

The transmitter sends a 130 KHz tone and supports PoE scanning, fast cable map testing, resistance measurement, and telephone line polarity detection. The receiver includes a non-contact voltage detector (NCV) for AC 90–1000 V, an earphone jack for quiet environments, and an onboard LED flashlight for working in dark cable trays or enclosures.

Key Features

• Transmitter and receiver operate at 130 KHz for long-distance cable tracing
• Cable map display: 8 LEDs with fast/slow dual-speed indication
• PoE scanning via the SCAN/PoE SCAN button
• Non-contact voltage detection: AC 90–1000 V (NCV), range ≥50 mm and ≤100 mm
• Continuity test: 1 LED for resistance ≤300 Ω, supports coaxial and solid/stranded wire via alligator clips
• Telephone line polarity and status indication via dual-colour LED
• Auto power off after 1 hour; low battery display at 6.5 V
• Live telecom equipment test and router test supported
• Earphone jack on receiver; LED flashlight included

Product Benefits

• A maximum tracing distance of 3 km (tone via antenna at 580/1160 Hz equivalent) lets technicians locate cables across large buildings or campus sites without a second operator
• The PoE scan function identifies powered ports on switches without additional equipment
• Fast/slow dual-speed cable map makes it easy to differentiate between a correct map and a miswire at a glance
• The NCV detector identifies live AC conductors safely, adding voltage safety to a cable tracing session
• Auto power-off and low battery LED protect battery life during long installations

Why You'll Love It

• Five dedicated function buttons on the transmitter (POWER, SCAN/PoE SCAN, TEST/FAST TEST, Ω, POL/TEL) keep each test mode immediately accessible
• Separate RJ45 SCAN and RJ11 SCAN sockets allow individual wire-pair location on both cable types without changing adapters
• The earphone jack lets you listen to the tone in noisy rack rooms without disturbing others
• The kit ships with RJ45 patch cable, RJ11/12 patch cable, alligator clip test lead, earphones, and a pouch bag — everything needed for a complete installation test
