The Johansson 8600 Universe is a digital compact headend designed for professional signal distribution installations. It accepts a single transponder from any DVB source — DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, or DVB-C — decrypts scrambled channels when a professional CAM is inserted, and re-transmits the content as DVB-T on your coaxial network and as multicast IP/UDP over Gigabit Ethernet, simultaneously if needed.

Multiple units can be cascaded to build a complete headend serving hotels, multi-room installations, IPTV networks, and similar environments. One unit can remotely power adjacent units, simplifying installation wiring.
